Which Railpass Should I Buy?
The Basics About Rail Passes
With a global pass you can use the train system in 20 pacticipating European countries (England and Scotland are not included). With a select pass you can choose between 3 and 5 bordering countries in advance (although certain country combinations such as Slovenia/Croatia count as one country on the pass). With a regional pass you can travel in a region, usually consisting of two bordering countries, but again, there are exceptions and some passes have 3 or more countries such as the Scandinavia pass. A one country pass allows you travel in a single country. Not all countries have all passes available. In general a one country pass is cheaper than a regional pass which is cheaper than a select pass which is cheaper than a global pass. Complicated enough?
So to find the right pass for you, fill out the questions, and the tool will show you what passes are available for the countries you want to visit. When you see what is available you can choose the best option, bearing in mind you'll save money if you can get where you want to go with a select pass instead of a global pass, or a regional pass instead of a select pass etc.
