About

This is a blog for the independent and young at heart traveler. Its a place to share info, advice and stories for things travel.

My name is Lenore. I write most of the content for this blog, with a few other contributors. I love travel and have always had a strong interest in adventure and exploration: whether its finding the best lake to go fishing, investigating travel gadgets for lighter packing, finding the best deals for booking flights or winging it and seeing what happens.

Despite the ash tray in this picture, I don’t actually smoke… not that I have anything against smokers.

For a bit of background I’m a software developer, like to horseback ride, play tennis and watch a good movie. I grew up in Edmonton, Canada. I would like to move to the west coast in the near future. Send me an email, I’m friendly [unless you’re not] and like to hear from readers of this site.

My favorite travel experience to date has been when I backpacked around Europe and visited Switzerland, Austria, Croatia, France, England and Italy. Most of that trip I did by myself, a bit with friends and some with family. Although I was planning to visit Greece on that trip and had been offered a free place to stay…. I left Greece for another trip (way too HOT in July). My favorite destination was Gimmelwald, Switzerland where I lived on a mountain that I had to take a gondola to get to. Paradise on earth does exist. Runners up were Halstatt Austria, Venice Italy and going to watch Wimbledon Tennis Live in London. It seemed like around every turn was another piece of magic. The trip was a life changing experience.

Some of the places I’ve visited in Canada and the US including Washington state, Oregon, British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Washington, DC and Maryland. I love to couchsurf and will be doing more of it in the future. Some places I’ll visit in the future are Thailand, South Africa and South America along with further trips to Europe. I don’t think that place could ever get old. At some point I’d love to visit Japan and China.

I love to talk to other travelers and to learn as much as I can from their time abroad. Hopefully you will benefit from the information gathered on this site!

My other website, Clear Waters Wellness is a health and wellness blog about natural and alternative health.
